At the Islington Design Centre today (and tomorrow) there's an unusual perspective on mobile data: mobile entertainment.

This event, say the organisers, "is the meeting point for CEOs • Managing Directors • Marketing and Business Development Managers • Technology Developers • Heads of Mobile Entertainment • Chief Gaming Officers • Chief Content Officers."

It brings together, market leading mobile operators, mobile ISPs, games developers, distributors and publishers, content licence providers, portals, systems integrators, handset manufacturers, software developers, content companies and applications developers - startups and established companies.

It's the second official event of the Mobile Entertainment Forum, MEF which was founded in February 2001 by leading forces in the fields of entertainment and mobile value-added services. It's described as "an open and global trade association created with the aim to further the growth and prosperity of the mobile entertainment industry."

MEF facilitates this through the development of technological and commercial, legal and technical guidelines, and by serving as a focal point and promotional vehicle for members of the Forum.

It's free to enter.
