Shapely lady divests; IBM sues; has ScotteVest gone too far?
by Sniffer | posted on 22 July 2002
It's only a vest, for goodness sake - but it has provoked a Playboy centrefold picture, an outraged Detroit Free Press complaint, and a lawsuit from IBM ...

The subject of all these angry packet transmissions? The ScotteVest - a sort of carry-all waistcoat for people who have a lot of portable gear. We mentioned it back in January as a neat idea.
It was the "e" in ScotteVest that annoyed IBM.

So much fuss about a jacket - but of course, it is an item of apparel. And some people can't think about clothes without thinking about taking them off. Apparently, Scott himself is one; he publicised his vest by showing a picture of a lady called Rebecca Scott almost wearing one.
It annoyed columnist Mike Wendland so much, he has stopped wearing his eVest in protest.
Sniffer has rotten news for Wendland. The eVest will shortly appear in Penthouse magazine, too. You can guess, if you like, how it will appear; we couldn't possible speculate.
